Turmeric Latte Recipe
What’s the deal with Turmeric? If you love finding new health and wellness trends, you’ve probably seen or heard everyone raving about turmeric. Turmeric lattes are trending and it’s not just because they make cute Instagram pictures, they actually taste really good and have amazing health benefits! They’re #trending so much that you can probably find a turmeric latte in your local coffee shop, or buy a latte mix at your local health foods store. However, they’re super easy to make just from scratch and can taste just as good!
This is all you need if you’re going to make one at home:
- 1 Teaspoon of Turmeric
- 1 Teaspoon of Coconut Butter
-Dash of Cinnamon
- Dash of Ginger powder (Optional)
-Dash of Black Pepper
-1 Teaspoon of Sweetener (Honey, Agave, or Maple Syrup)
-Vital Proteins Collagen (Optional)
First, in your cup put your turmeric, cinnamon, and black pepper together. Mix that up and add a little bit of boiling water to make a bit of a paste. You can now add your sweetener, coconut butter and collagen. Add a little bit more hot water to mix the ingredients. Once everything is mixed together you can fill the cup with hot water about 1/3. Now you want to heat your mylk.
Depending on how big your mug is you'll need about 1/2 to 1/3 cup of mylk. Add your vanilla extract to the mylk and heat either by using a stove top, microwave or mylk frother. To froth the mylk you can use a whisk or electric frother (I get mine from Ikea!). You can now add the mylk to your mug and voila! A turmeric latte.
Benefits of turmeric:
Turmeric is mostly known for it’s anti inflammatory properties, it’s great for the skin, and your gut! It’s also a very strong anti oxidant, as well as linked to improved brain function!
